Nguyen Hoang Tranh
Nguyễn Hoàng Tranh (1976) is a poet living in Sydney, Australia.
Nguyễn Hoàng Tranh was born in Vietnam. In March 1990, together with his mother and siblings, he arrived in Australia to reunite with his father who had settled in Sydney as a refugee in 1979. Tranh began writing his poems when he was 14. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 2001 with a double degree in Economics and Law.
In 2000, he joined the editorial board of the literary journal Việt and is one of the founding members of the innovative webzine Tiền Vệ. In 2003, his first collection of poetry, Thở [Breath/Poetry], was published in Australia by Tiền Vệ. His poetry also appears in the anthologies 26 Nhà Thơ Việt Nam Ðương Ðại [26 Contemporary Vietnamese Poets](California: Tân Thư, 2002) and Cau Noi - The Bridge Anthology of Vietnamese-Australian Writing (Sydney: Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, 2004).
