Mai Thao

Mai Thảo (1927-1998), real name Nguyễn Ðăng Quý, was a fiction writer, editor and poet.
He was born in Nam Định, moved to Saigon in 1954, emigrated to the US as a refugee in 1975, and died in California in 1998. In 1956, he co-founded, with Thanh Tâm Tuyền, the groundbreaking literary journal Sáng Tạo [Creativity]. Altogether, he published about 50 books.
