The Uyen

Thế Uyên (1935), real name Nguyễn Kim Dũng, is a fiction writer, critic and essayist.
He was born in Hanoi. His mother was the sister of Nhất Linh, Hoàng Đạo and Thạch Lam. He went to Saigon in 1954, then emigrated to the US as a refugee in 1987. In 1992, he earned a Bachelor's degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.
He published 21 books before 1975 and has continued to be active in the U.S. He has written several essays on sexuality in the works of several female writers, raising eyebrows and a bit of controversy.
