Khai Hung

Khái Hưng (1896-1947), real name Trần Giư, was a fiction writer and translator.

He was born in Hải Phòng and died in Nam Định, possibly murdered by the Việt Minh. Along with Nhất Linh, he was a key member of the group Tự Lực Văn Đoàn. His novels include Hồn bướm mơ tiên (1933), Ðời mưa gió, written with Nhất Linh (1933), Gánh hàng hoa, written with Nhất Linh (1934), Trống mái (1936), Gia đình (1936), Tiêu sơn tráng sĩ (1937), Thoát ly (1938), Hạnh (1938), Ðẹp (1940) and Thanh Ðức (1942), and of these short-story collections: Anh phải sống, written with Nhất Linh (1934), Tiếng suối reo (1935), Ðợi chờ (1940) and Cái ve (1944).
