Hoang Dao

Hoàng Đạo (1906-1948), real name Nguyễn Tường Long, was an important essayist and fiction writer, associated with Tự Lực Văn Đoàn, or Self-Reliance literary group.

He was born in Hải Dương, went to Guangzhou, China in 1946, and died on a train between Shanghai and Guangzhou in 1948. One of Nhất Linh's brothers, he was the theoretician of the Self-Reliance group. He wrote Trước vành móng ngựa [The Defendant's Box] (1938), Mười điều tâm niệm [Ten Points to Ponder] (1939), and Con đường sáng [The Radiant Path] (1940).
